The third and final phase in the multi-year renovation of the Pierce College Cascade Building provides a new, two-story, 36,000 SF facility featuring specialized laboratories and facilities for the Dental Hygiene and Veterinary Technology programs. The project also includes a 20,000 SF renovation of the Emergency Medical Services program space on level one of the Cascade Building. The new facility will serve as a modern teaching and learning medical facility with a full operating room. BCE led the mechanical design, which included a Variable Air Volume (VAV) System with hydronic heating and DX cooling. Four VAV air handling units are specially designed for medical facilities and include features like a UV disinfection system, MERV-8 Pre-Filter and HEPA final filter, and laminar flow diffusers for surgery suites.
