Pierce County Sewer and Traffic Operations (STOP) Facility

This 125,000 square foot, six-building, 28 acre campus is designed for a capacity of 150 employees. The complex includes admin offices, shipping and receiving, maintenance, warehouse, vehicle storage, and fuel/wash bays. Specialty mechanical systems included were compressed air, paint booth, lube, sawdust collection, and vehicle exhaust. The building utilized a geothermal ground loop HVAC system, rain water collection and treatment system, LED lighting, and daylight harvesting to optimize energy savings and sustainability. The designs resulted in a 25% energy savings as compared to the Washington State Energy Code. Total project cost was approximately $34.5M.
