This design-build project involved two five-story, 76,000 square foot, Unaccompanied Enlisted Personnel Housing (UEPH) facilities. The project achieved a LEED Gold certification and won the Design Build Institute of America (DBIA) Honor Award. Total project cost was $73.4M. Approximately 6,000 feet of new medium voltage distribution system was added, including a new 15kV substation breaker, sectionalized switches and 15kV cables to upgrade base distribution system. In addition, nearly 5,500 lineal feet of new communications duct bank was installed to extend communications to that portion of the base. A solar domestic hot water system sized to handle 100% of the hot water demand was utilized to reduce energy usage over 40% compared to ASHRAE 90.1.
