VA Plumbing for Domestic Water Site Survey & BIM Model

This project required us to provide a survey and BIM model of the existing potable domestic water piping systems at the VA Seattle Medical Center, American Lake Medical Center, and Mann-Grandstaff Medical Center. The projects were necessary to help prevent legionella and other water-borne pathogens.

Our work helped create a model to allow maintenance staff to view the Domestic Water System independently from other plumbing so the system can be identified and managed for patient safety during facility management operations.

We completed field surveys to identify all supply and return elements, components, fixtures, and distribution systems. The plumbing systems are integrated with general architectural modeling to allow a relational understanding of locations.
